Lego Secured! An Update on My Lego Wish List of Retiring Sets 2025

Welcome back Lego fans! My writing-minifigure-in-crime Corey also recently wrote about his Personal Favorites retiring this year. That got me thinking about my blog earlier this year in August 2025 when I wrote about 7 Retiring Sets on My Wish List for 2025. Here is an update on which sets in my wish list I was able to pick up, what I didn’t secure before the end of the year, and what I have removed from my list.

Got ‘em!

Stay on target.

Shortly after I wrote my wish list blog I found the Coruscant Guard Gunship (75354) on a clearance deal at Walmart. It was in store, so that’s different than what I usually do because I mostly shop online. But, because of the discounted price at $105 I felt like I had to jump on that deal. I was afraid to miss out on this set. If you were patient, you could have picked up the Gunship at Lego during Insiders Weekend for $98, with other retailers matching. I’m glad I got it at a discount, even if it wasn’t the deepest, so that my son can enjoy this for his birthday.

Celebrate good times!

In September, Lego sent me a code for a GWP for a Micro Lego Ninjago City Gardens set and I used that along with a gift card I was given for my birthday to purchase the Baby Pig’s Birthday Celebration (21281). I actually picked up a few - one for personal, and the rest for gifts. I’ll probably give one each to my sons.

Titan Dragon Mech secured.

Earlier this month (November), Target kicked off Black November with 40%+ off on a huge selection of sets. In my opinion, this has been the best sale of the month so far. I took advantage of those discounts and picked up the Ninjago Cole’s Titan Dragon Mech (71821) for $56.99! Of course, I used my Red Card for an additional 5% off. I’ve built some of the smaller Lego mechs, but I want a big one to display proudly and this mech fits that perfectly.

I love Speed Champs

Also in November, Walmart had its first Early Black Friday event. This sale featured some awesome discounts on Speed Champions sets - one of my favorite themes to build. Some of those sets are still on sale as of this writing, like the Mercedes AMG 2 pack for $25. I picked up the BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M Hybrid V8 Race Cars (76922) for $25. I’m a huge fan of Lego cars and this is a perfect addition to my collection.

Avengers, Assemble!

This week, Scheels had a sale and I found Avengers Assemble: Age of Ultron (76291) for 20% off. Now, this isn’t the best price I’d love to pick it up at - I even seen this set at 30% off a month or so ago. But, I pulled the trigger because I had a Scheels gift card and I received a 36% cash back offer. All 3 of these factors - the gift card I didn’t buy or use my money on, 20% off RRP, and an additional 36% cash back - were green lights for me to pick this set up. Now, I can relive some of my favorite memories of the Avengers.

Still Wishing

One day, maybe.

The Jazz Club went on sale at Target and I missed out. At the same time, I was thinking about the amount of space I don’t have and how I should save my money. I also started looking at the Boutique Hotel and Tudor Corner. All 3 of these modulars look great, but I don’t have the space. I want them all, but right now, I’ll just keep wishing for them to go on sale at a later time. I know, after they retire they will likely not go on sale. But, you never know, and I’m always holding out hope of finding these discounted used. I’m a fan of bringing sets back to life with a little brick replacements and dusting. So, until then, Jazz Club is still on my wish list.

I’m OK Without This

Always dreaming.

I’m a fan of Dreamzzz sets - currently building Mr. Oz’s Space Bus - and Mateo and Z-Blob the Knight Battle Mech (71485) is a dreamy set. It’s fun, bright, and I can just imagine the playability and scenes we can create with this mech in our collection. But, I haven’t seen a great sale on this set and I don’t have a lot of space in my house to store another box. So, I’m OK letting this set retire and not owning it. Of course, similar to Jazz Club, if I ever find Z-Blob the Mech at a price I can’t say no to I’m picking it up and building it!

I had 7 Lego sets on my wish list to pick up before they retire at the end of this year. I picked up 5 of those 7, 1 is still on my wish list, and 1 I can live without. Of the 5 I secured, you can see that I shopped around. I bought from different retailers, one was in-store, I took advantage of sales and discounts, used gift cards, and activated cash back. As Lego fans, I encourage you to do the same. Shop wisely!

Next year in 2026 we’ve got a lot of new Lego and a bunch of sets retiring. So, I’ll create another retiring wish list and share it with you all. Thank you for reading and thanks for being here Lego fans!
