Lego June Release Recap - Part 3

Welcome to Part 3 of 4 in my series covering all the new Lego releases in June.  If you missed parts 1 or 2, or both and want to catch up, click here. Also, check out some of the blog posts from my blogger brother from another mother, Tadashiroll. He has some great content doing Lego reviews and videos builds of his favorite sets and MOC’s. Trust me, you will not regret it. He usually keeps his videos short and sweet for people like me that lack a long attention span…

This week we will review Minecraft, Art, Icons, Ideas, and Fortnite

Minecraft

21274 The Warden Encounter

21275 The TNT Jungle House

21276 The Creeper

21277 The Pickaxe Mine

Lego Mineraft

Highlights of the June releases in my opinion are 21276 The Creeper and 21277 The Pickaxe Mine

Lego Minecraft sets are very popular and have become even more desireable with the release of the Minecraft movie earlier this year. The amazon data backs that up with 19 currently available sets selling over 1000 each month, 5 of which are over 5000 per month. I would not expect any different results with these new releases

Art

31217 The Fauna Collection Tiger

The Fauna Collection

The Tiger joins the Macaw Parrots set from last year in the Fauna Collection.

Icons

10352 The Simpsons Krusty Burger

10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook

10367 Lord of the Rings Balrog Book Nook

The Icons theme see three banger sets released in June. While very different in subject matter, 10367 LOTR Balrog and 10351 Sherlock Holmes are related in their purpose, designed as book nook display pieces. They can be folded in half or opened up for a wider display with each method offering a different perspective.

The Simpson are back after many years without a release in this IP.

Ideas

21357 Disney Pixar Luxo Jr.

213 Minifigure Vending Machine

Lego Ideas

June see two new fan inspired releases with Disney Pixar Luxo Jr. and the Minifigure Vending Machine

Fortnite

77075 Peely & Sparkplug’s Camp

77076 Durr Burger Restaraunt

77077 Klombo

While I have only played the game a few times, I have to say I still enjoy these sets and think Lego has a done a great job overall with the Fortnite releases thus far. You do not need to know what Fortnite is to realize that 77077 Klombo is an amazing creature build. I don’t know what a Klombo is either but I know that I like it and will buy it.

One Random Thought

What’s the longest you’ve gone without building Lego?

Since emerging from my dark age a few years ago the longest I’ve gone without building Lego has been a few weeks, until now.  Unfortunately, it has been about 3 months since I last built a Lego set.  Between my job, writing, a new side hustle, family, and yard work, I have little time left for Lego.  Maybe I need to concentrate on some of my smaller sets in my backlog, I have my eye on you 40795 Luke Skywalker (Rebel Pilot) Brickheadz…

Next week will conclude the June series of new releases covering Jurassic World, Technic, Marvel, and Disney

Until next time AFOL’s….
