Lego June Release Recap - Part 4

Welcome to Part 4 and the final installment in my series covering all the new Lego releases for June 2025.  If you missed parts 1, 2, or 3, and want to catch up, click here.

This week we will review Jurassic World Rebirth, Marvel, Technic, and Disney.

As summer begins to turn the heat up outside, there are some blockbuster summer movies coming out soon, most notably, Jurassic World Rebirth, The Fantastic 4, and Superman.  Summer is a great time to sit in an air conditioned movie theater and watch a movie.  It can also be a great time to build some cool Lego Jurassic World sets, so let's talk about that.

I intentionally saved the Jurassic World Rebirth sets until part 4, as the new movie that corresponds with these Lego sets, will be released July 2nd

Jurassic World Rebirth

76970 Baby Dinosaur Dolores: Aquilops

76972 Raptor Off-Road Escape

76973 Raptor & Titanosaurus Tracking Mission

76974 Brick-Built Mosasaurus Boat Mission

76975 T.Rex River Escape

76976 Spinosaurus & Quetzalcoatlus Air Mission

Jurassic World Rebirth

6 new exciting sets corresponding with the release of the new movie. Many brand new dinosaurs and minifigures as well.

These sets all seem to depict great playability featuring scenes from the movie (we will find out on July 2nd), with my favorite being 76974 Brick-Built Mosasaurus and 76970 Baby Dinosaur Dolores: Aquilops.  Once again I am really impressed with Lego’s design team when it comes to creating buildable creatures/animals in the Jurassic and also in the Creator themes.

The real question I have is, what actor will end up having the most Lego minifigures made after them?  Scarlett Johansson or Chris Pratt?  (Both appear in Jurassic and Marvel movies)

Marvel

76316 Fantastic Four vs Galactus Construction Figure

76326 Iron Spider-Man Bust

Marvel…

While its nice to get a new set that goes along with The Fantastic 4 movie, I feel Lego could have picked something else…

If I was forced to buy and build one of these two sets it would be the Spiderman Bust but can't say I am crazy excited about it.  I prefer the helmet style sets like we see in the Star Wars and  Marvel subthemes like the Star-Lord and Spider-man Helmet rather than the bust style set.  Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Technic

42210 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) Car

42217 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Blue

Technic coming in HOT!!

The Corvette Stingray is a classic american car that has been reimagined many times over. The Nissan Skyline has a special place in Hollywood history as it was featured in the Fast & Furious movies driven by the late Paul Walker.

Now we have another Fast and Furious car in the Technic theme joining Dom’s Charger from 2022.  The Nissan Skyline is a cool addition to the Technic theme and looks to build on the popularity of the smaller Nissan Skyline Speed Champions set.  76917 is retiring this year (maybe…we have been told that before…) so be sure to get yourself a copy before it's too late.

Fans of the American classic Corvette should be pretty excited about this build in a unique blue color that will look great on on display.

Disney

43257 Angel

43258 Moana 2 Kakamora Barge

43264 Toy Story Celebration Train & RC Car

43267 Disney Princess Castle & Royal Pets

43269 101 Dalmatians Puppy

43271 Lucky & Penny 101 Dalmatians Puppies

43274 Minnie’s Pet Hotel

43278 Frozen Mini Arendelle Castle & Elsa’s Ice Palace

Disney knows I like brick built animals

8 new Disney sets released in June with three of them being brick built animals.

43257 Angel (from Lili and Stitch)

43269 and 43271 feature buildable dalmations from the 101 Dalmation franchise.

One Random Thought

I made my first few purchases recently of already retired sets, which of course had grown in value since its retirement.  It hurt my ego a little as I am usually a pretty frugal Lego shopper by capitalizing on sales for sets on my want list.  However, these two sets had retired the year I emerged from my dark age and I was not aware they were retiring.

The two sets I bought were 40549 Stranger Things Brickheadz: Demogorgon & Eleven and 76956 Jurassic Park T. Rex Breakout.  I’m pretty happy with the price I paid relative to when the sets retired and am looking forward to building them.  I'll share some pictures once I have them done.

Until next time AFOL’s….
