3 New Lego Ideas Sets On the Way
Hey there Lego fans! Lego recently announced 3 Lego Ideas projects that have been reviewed and selected for development to become real Lego sets for fans like us to buy in the near future. These sets have to first achieve 10,000 supporters, which on its own is an incredible accomplishment. For the 3 sets selected to then be cleared by the Lego and Lego Ideas team to be an official Lego set is every Lego fan’s dream. Let’s take a look at the sets that were selected.
Jumanji Board Game
Designed and built by PrehistoricHamster051 in September 2025, the Jumanji Board game from the the popular movie Jumanji released in 1995. The designer is a big fan of the movie having watched is multiple times, and you can see the passion that went into the project. In fact, they built the set with physical bricks from their own collection in 2023 before submitting the design to Lego Ideas a couple years later.
The build is the Jumanji Board Game with a beautifully designed cover that perfectly represents the game you see in the movie. You can see the name Jumanji spelled out with tiles, animals in the corners, and various details that stand out nicely. The box opens up to find the map of the game and includes dice, game tokens, and minifigures of the characters from the movie. I’m also a fan of this movie and love to see Alan Parrish in two forms as “trapped in game” and “freed” minifigure versions.

Universal Monsters
The creator SpectralBricks submitted this project in April 2025 and it features some movie making history with Universal Studios’ Monsters. As the creator suggests, if you are a fan of classic horror movies and monster films, this one is for you. The primary feature of this set is the castle, which screams scary, and also has secrets that can be found throughout along with references to movie history. You’ll find a grand foyer, secret lab, catacombs, and a dungeon.
I’m interested to see what Lego does with this set in terms of minifigures. The Ideas project shows Frankenstein in one of the images, but the other monsters are mockups in the images (drawings versus minifigures) and the creator references “suggested minifigures” in the description. I wonder which monsters - Dracula, Wolf Man, Bride of Frankenstein? - Lego will include when this set is fully developed.

LEGO Kimonos
This set was submitted in November 2023 by TheDriXx and was previously published as a challenge submission. The creator decided that LEGO Kimonos would be an awesome build and display set, and 10k supporters did too. The set features two girls in kimonos and traditional Japanese accessories. Additionally, the set has bricks that be swapped and switched like the hair pieces, flowers, and even kimonos. Each figure is built with posable arms and legs, so you can display them as you wish.
The creator mentions that the build was a lot more challenging than originally expected. I like that they mentioned this because it can be difficult to first come up with your own ideas to submit to Lego, and secondly the learning curve of working in a digital platform like Bricklink Studio can be steep, especially when it comes to rotating pieces, creating angles, and finding solutions to brick building problems. I can’t wait to see the instructions once Lego finalizes this design.

Congrats to these 3 designer for their sets gathering the support and being approved for the next phase of their Lego dream. If all goes well, we will get to see these sets in the Lego Ideas theme in the future.
My Ideas
I’m going to do a little plug here because I also have a dream of seeing my Lego creation become an official set one day. Lego City Funicular Inspired by Angels Flight Railway - Los Angeles’ Historical Landmark
My funicular build could fit right into a fellow Lego builder’s Lego city. I went through a couple iterations of this build and it was featured as a Lego Ideas Staff Pick.
Inspired by my Grandma’s garden where I spent many Summers you’ll find a greenhouse, gazebo, and yard full of flowers, plants, and trees. Even includes minifigures inspired by my Grandma and siblings!
