Weekly Round Up
Last week’s blog was primarily focused on upcoming releases and breaking news. This week, let's talk about ACTUAL Lego releases! The month of April has a short set list, but the those releases are nothing to sleep on. We have some large and impressive sets being released that are also accompanied by large and impressive price tags. Two of the sets will be paired with limited release GWP’s that can sweeten the deal on making them a day 1 purchase.
Are you excited to get your hand on some new Lego sets?
10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire
This week saw Lego release concrete details and pictures regarding the highly anticipated Lord of the Rings: The Shire. Set 10354 will be available for purchase on April 2-4 for Lego insiders and April 5 for everyone else. Lego Insiders will also enjoy an exclusive GWP Smeagol and Deagol set while supplies last. The Shire will come with 2017 pieces, 9 minifigures, and cost $269.99
Pictured is the lineup of minifigures included in the 10354 The Shire. While a few have appeared in other LOTR sets, all 9 figs feature at least one new element or print making them all exclusive to this set.
Other Releases the first week of April
43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle
The Beauty and the Beast Castle will be available April 1 for Lego insiders and April 4 for everyone else. The castle is another large set with 2916 pieces, 10 minifigures, and will cost $279.99
The castle standing 21 inches tall would make a grand statement as a display piece. Disney and Beauty and the Beast fans should be excited with the fantastic color contrast and amazing dimensional details.
23156 River Steamboat
The River Steamboat is 4090 pieces, will cost $329.99, and will be available April 7-9 for Lego Insiders and will be paired with a GWP related to the steamboat, the Amelia Ticket Booth. The steamboat will be available on April 10 for non-insiders. To read the story behind the creation of this set, click here.
Another grand display piece! Pair this with the GWP Amelia’s Ticket Booth and let your display tell the whole story
The Shire, Beauty and the Beast Castle, and The River Steamboat, are all part of a broader category Lego classifies as Adults Welcome, which is a list of sets geared towards the adult Lego community that encompasses a wide variety of popular themes and genres.
40817 Yellow Travel Suitcase
Maybe it's just me, but the suitcase would be my first purchase of all the sets listed above. It is an adorable little set that could be an easy gift for Lego and non-Lego fans alike. The suitcase is vibrant in color, comes with a variety of small buildable accessories, and is loaded with charm. It depicts the suitcase of a seasoned traveler.
This set is loaded with great little details, color, and mini buildable accessories. My favorite detail of the set is the luggage tag attached to the bag denoting a trip to BLL, or Billund Airport in Denmark
While not been confirmed, this seems like the kind of set Lego would make an exclusive from Lego.com and Lego stores. Depending on the retirement date, this could be an great purchase for collectors and investors as well. We will know more after its release
Current offers and GWP’s
There are 2 great promotions happening right now at Lego.com. The first offer is 2x Insiders points on a large list of sets in the City, Creator, Friends, Dreamzzz, Icons, and Ninjago themes. The second offer is the GWP Easter Bunny Surprise that comes with a purchase of $75 and above. Both promotions will end on April 2.
Spider-Verse CMF rumored to release sept 2025
The latest rumors to come from the Collectible Minifigure series theme is a Spider-Verse line that will be available in September of 2025. This will be series 28 and consist of 12 minififures at $4.99 each
