Back from a Summer Brick Break
Hey there Lego friends! I hope you all had a great Summer full of Lego building.
I took a break from most things Lego for about 5-6 weeks, so I apologize that I haven’t posted a blog here on Brick Dynasty lately (and for those part of the BD Inner Circle I haven’t be on the calls). But, I’m slowly getting back into the groove of things. To help kick start that, I’m writing this post to talk about a few topics that have been on my mind lately. Let’s dive in.
A Recent Speed Champs Build
First up, it feels like it’s been a while since I built a Lego set. But, the stars aligned on a Saturday with my kids hanging out in their rooms, the wife driving back from a small trip, and I had done all my chores around the house. So, I had some time and put together the Lego Speed Champions KICK Sauber F1 Team C44 Race Car (Set# 77247). The build process was enjoyable and had interesting techniques, similar to what you’ll find in recent Speed Champs cars. I also like the new (to me) parts and the part usage, and didn’t care too much for the 24 stickers!
Overall, a fun build that I should probably do a separate BRICKED review, but this will do as I ease back into it all. In the third photo of the front of the car you’ll see the KICK logos and those 2 bricks in the middle are printed, versus the stickers for almost everything else (other than the tires). Which I also didn’t notice are 2 different sizes, which was an fun little surprise for me. Parts 6508991 and 6166106 are newer parts in my building experience, and I liked how 6166106 was used in the build for the rear wheels. I did make one small change to the top of the vehicle, right behind the driver’s head. I don’t know if that’s a big deal that changes the F1 cars because I’m not a huge F1 follower, but I like the way it looks better.
Lego GWPs
There are a few gift with purchases (GWPs) available on Lego Shop at Home right now including the Grond GWP with the purchase of the huge LOTR castle, and the Scary Tree with purchases over $100. You can get both of those GWPs through the end of the month or while supplies last. Starting on October 1 you can pick up the Lego Astro Bot build based on the PlayStation series of games. This one looks awesome and I’m considering putting a cart together to pickup this if the purchase thresholds make sense. Note: there’s a rumor that this GWP might be tied to the new PlayStation 1 console build set rather than a dollar amount requirement.

Lego S@H Purchase with Amazon Shipping Mystery..
Has anyone recently ordered from Lego online and had their order fulfilled and shipped through Amazon?
That’s what happened to me with my latest order. As I was tracking the progress of my order I noticed the tracking number had TBA in it and I recognized it was similar to Amazon. As I continued to watch the progress, it did update to Amazon. I thought that was interesting because it’s something new for me from Lego, and it made me think of the possibilities and opportunities that Lego and Amazon might be exploring. Anyway, not much more to say here, just wanted to throw it out to everyone.
Ok y’all, short one for this blog post. This reminds me of when you want to challenge yourself when building a Lego set and you open every bag in the box instead of in sequential order.
