Lego Retirement List Grows (2025)

Welcome Lego fans!

Earlier this week, Lego marked more sets as “Retiring Soon” on the official Lego shop at home store. The current page shows a total of 331 products (USA), which means this could your last change to buy the sets. Lego can change things as they wish and retiring this year doesn’t mean it’s the VERY LAST chance to buy. But, at some point soon these sets will be out of production and unavailable on shelves. So, at the very least, check out what’s retiring and see if anything is on your wish list so you can plan your buying accordingly.

Last chance before some Lego sets go extinct.

I shared my retirement wish list last month. Here, I’ll share some of the sets I own that are marked for retirement this year.

Jurassic World | Baby Bumby: Ankylosaurus (76962)

I’ll be honest that I initially wasn’t a fan of this set, which is why it took me so long to buy it. But, after watching the Jurassic World shows with my sons, I figured I’d pick one up. Bumpy did not disappoint. This little dino is such a fun build, especially because of the head and tail function. The other thought I had while building Bumpy was how cool the shell is, reminding me of the Lego Mario Kart Spiny Shell.

Speed Champions | Ford Mustang Dark Horse Sports Car (76920)

The Dark Horse is a really nice build on its own, but as a MOC build I had so much fun with this set. Of course, I first built the set per the instructions. But, afterwards, I broke it down and built 2 of my own cars. First, what I call the chibi Dark Horse because it’s the mini version. I think it’s really cute! Second, I’m a fan of the Porsche, so I did my best to use the pieces only from this set to build a Dark Horse Porsche. Let me know your thoughts.

Creator 3-in-1 | Pirate Ship (31109)

Who doesn’t love a pirate ship?! Building this ship brought back some childhood memories of the ships I owned. The only difference this time is that I didn’t try to make the ship float (not yet). This is a fun set at the right price.

Star Wars | Tantive IV (75376)

During clearance season, I found this set in an aisle where Lego wasn’t supposed to be and the box was smashed. Didn’t matter to me because it was 60% off. Building this set, I didn’t start with the instructions because I don’t care too much for the Tantive IV. Instead, I went straight for a MOC. I am a fan of the U-Wing, so that’s the direction I went and it came out beautifully in my opinion, especially the way the wings are nice and snug in either position. Plus, it’s swooshable!

Star Wars | Onyx Cinder (75374)

I was happy to find this set on a clearance at Walmart. The Onyx Cinder is in my backlog of sets to build, so I don’t have any photos to show you. But, having watching the show, I was a big fan of the ship. I will probably build this one by the book and then modify it. I also need to find space to display this ship too.
