A Look Back at My 2025

Hey Lego friends

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday season.  It will be 2026 in just a couple days and on behalf of everyone at The Brick Dynasty I would like to wish you a happy and prosperous New Year.

Without boring you with the details, my 2025 was filled with many new, challenging, and rewarding adventures that I plan to build upon into 2026.

My take aways from 2025 that I would like to share:

  1. It’s never too late to start something new and reinvent yourself.

  2. Most people avoid making changes in their lives because they are afraid of other’s reactions.   DO WHAT’S BEST FOR YOU!!  Don’t let people that don’t matter dictate your trajectory.  Honestly, most people don’t care that much.  Or better yet, give them something to talk about.

  3. No one is coming to rescue you.  If you want change in your life, take matters into your own hands and make it happen.

  4. Lego has become more than just a hobby for me.  It's a stress reliever, an escape from the daily grind, and it can be shared with friends.  I have made several new friends this year because of Lego.

  5. The adult Lego community is so very kind, welcoming, and diverse.  It can be difficult to make new friends as an adult but the Lego community proves otherwise.

Resolutions are a popular tradition each New Year.  Instead of making absolute resolutions, I would recommend being flexible, trying new things, and see where it takes you.  Don’t let failure scare you, let it happen, learn from it, let it evolve, and see where it takes you.  If you are committed to change,  let that be the principle that guides you, and don’t stop trying just because the first thing you try doesn’t work.

A favorite author and podcaster of mine, Dan Koe always says:  “You have to realize what you don't want to figure out what you want.”  That’s just another way of saying use trial and error till you figure it out.

A year ago I had no writing experience (besides pointless essays in college) and now I write a weekly blog about my favorite hobby, Lego. I have also made some new friends along the way.

Happy New Years and here’s to a bigger and better 2026!!

Until next time AFOL’s….
